Birmingham Newman University has achieved an incredible milestone in its ongoing partnership with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) through the Pack for Good campaign.

This initiative, which aims to reduce landfill waste, give pre-loved items a second home, and raise funds for life-saving research, has been running at Birmingham Newman for just under two years — and the results speak for themselves.

This year, the Birmingham Newman community raised a fantastic £9,165, surpassing last year’s total and making a significant contribution to BHF’s vital work. Alongside the fundraising success, the campaign diverted 4.8 tonnes of donations away from landfill, delivering a positive impact on the environment as well as on families who benefit from these items.

“This is an extraordinary amount of money that we know will help, and has helped, with their work,” said Environmental Advisor, Lucy Clarke. “We exceeded our goal for this year, and now we’re going to have to work extra hard to achieve even more next year — but we’re confident we can do it!”

The partnership has been described as a fantastic collaboration for both Birmingham Newman University and BHF, and it will continue into the future. Every donation from staff and students has played a part in supporting life-saving research and promoting sustainability.

Thank you to everyone at Birmingham Newman for your generosity and commitment to making a difference.
