Birmingham Newman University to Launch Sports Massage Clinic Open to the Public

Birmingham Newman University is excited to announce the upcoming launch of its brand-new Sports Massage Clinic, set to welcome its first clients from Monday, 13 October 2025.

Run by second-year Sport and Exercise Therapy students under the close supervision of experienced, fully qualified staff, the clinic offers professional, affordable soft tissue therapy to the public. Treatments include deep tissue massage, soft tissue maintenance and Pre and post event massage.

Kat Whelan, Programme Leader & Senior Lecturer in Sports and Exercise Therapy at Birmingham Newman University, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity not only for our students to gain valuable hands-on clinical experience but also for the local community to access affordable sports massage therapy right here at Birmingham Newman University, and experience our fantastic facilities. Whether you’re an athlete, gym-goer, or simply looking to relieve everyday stress, our clinic has something to offer.”

Sessions start from just £10, offering excellent value in a safe, supportive, and professional environment.

Located on campus in Bartley Green, the clinic reflects Birmingham Newman University’s commitment to academic excellence, practical learning, and community engagement. Local residents can support student development while receiving expert care in a trusted university setting.
