Explore Psychotherapy Through Relational Practice.

Entry requirements
We welcome students from all backgrounds and accept a wide range of qualifications. If yours aren’t listed, don’t worry – our Admissions Team can help you explore your options. See full entry requirements.
• A relevant honours degree, 2:2 or above.
• Applicants will usually have completed a face-to-face level 3 qualification in counselling skills.
• Experience of supporting individuals in a professional, voluntary or personal capacity is usually also required.
If English is not your first language, you must have an IELTS score of 6.5, with no element below 6.0. (Other English language qualifications are also accepted. Please contact admissions for further information).
Consideration will be given to applicants with lower grade in qualifications (e.g. a 3rd class degree or non-honours degree) who have a relevant range of post study professional experience. Professional experience will be considered by the programme leader in conjunction with the quality office on an individual basis.

Course fees
The tuition fee for academic year 2025/26 is: £4,225
Fees for the 2026/27 academic year are subject to change and will be published here on 9 February 2026.
Additional costs
The University will review tuition fees and increase fees in line with any inflationary uplift as determined by the UK Government, if permitted by law or government policy, in subsequent years of your course. It is anticipated that such increases would be linked to RPI (the Retail Price Index excluding mortgage interest payments).

Placement Information
Throughout your MSc Integrative Psychotherapy course, you will engage in supervised clinical placements that are carefully integrated with your academic learning. From your second year, you will begin working directly with clients in real-world settings, completing a minimum of 450 hours of client work. These experiences are supported by regular clinical supervision and personal therapy, helping you reflect on your development and deepen your therapeutic insight. You will be guided by experienced professionals and supported by university staff, with progress monitored through structured reflection and assessment. These opportunities are designed to help you apply theory to practice and grow into a confident, ethical and relationally aware psychotherapist.

Graduates of the MSc Integrative Psychotherapy go on to practise in private settings, the NHS, education and the voluntary sector. The course equips you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to work with relational depth and professional integrity. Accreditations and Exemptions
The MSc Integrative Psychotherapy is accredited by the Universities Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (UPCA), a member organisation of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Successful completion of all academic, clinical and personal development requirements leads to eligibility for UKCP registration. The course provides a strong foundation for working in private practice, the NHS and the voluntary sector.
