Lecturer in Policing

This is an exciting opportunity to join Newman University’s academic community as a Lecturer in Policing. You will work with the Programme leader and other colleagues to deliver our new undergraduate Degree in Professional Policing  The course is situated within the Department of Social Science, Sport and Business. The Department is home to a number of cognate subject areas including Criminology and Law, thus enables inter professional learning and teaching You will work with colleagues from across the University to promote and grow the programme and to develop appropriate external partnerships.

As a Lecturer you will deliver modules across the curriculum.  You will need to have relevant and recent operational policing experience within the UK. This should include some operational experience including from an investigative policing background.

You should be able to evidence an appropriate level of experience and a commitment to high quality learning and teaching as well as providing an excellent student experience. Some experience of research would be welcome. You should be educated to undergraduate level in a relevant discipline and seek to work towards a post graduate qualification, if not already achieved.  You should have relevant qualifications in teaching in higher education and/or fellowship of the HEA, or be willing to gain appropriate qualifications as soon as is practicable.
