IT Services Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting and maintaining the University\u2019s IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable, secure, and high-performing services that underpin teaching, learning, and professional operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Working as part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of core systems across on-premise and cloud environments, helping to enhance the overall digital experience for staff and students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"this-role-will-be-required-to\">This role will be required to:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Operate and maintain the University\u2019s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, backups, endpoint security, and Microsoft 365 services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure hosting environments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resolve technical issues and escalations from the Service Desk and support teams within agreed SLAs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor systems proactively, identifying trends and potential issues to prevent service disruption<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain system security through patching, monitoring, and security controls<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"we-are-looking-for-candidates-with\">We are looking for candidates with:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Proven experience supporting, maintaining, and operating IT infrastructure environments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong working knowledge in at least one of the following areas:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Networking (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, cloud connectivity)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Infrastructure hosting (virtualisation and cloud platforms such as Azure)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Microsoft 365 and collaboration tooling<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IT security, monitoring, and endpoint management solutions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A customer-focused approach<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong attention to detail<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A proactive mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A willingness to learn and stay up to date with emerging technologies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Informal enquiries about this opportunity are very welcome.
