One of your main duties will be to staff the busy Service Desk, where you will provide a welcoming first point of contact to the Library\u2019s users. You will respond to a wide range of enquiries \u2013 helping students and other library users to manage their library accounts, find and use print and electronic resources, and utilise the library and IT facilities effectively. You will also complete a variety of administrative tasks, including processing books, managing the library mailbox, and participating in wider library projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No prior experience of working in a library is required, but the successful candidate must have a good level of literacy, administrative skills, and IT skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to respond to a range of enquiries with confidence. You should be passionate about providing a timely and high-quality customer service to library users, and you should be enthusiastic about adopting new technologies. You may sometimes be asked to work non-standard working hours, so flexibility and adaptability is also a must-have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Informal enquiries about this opportunity are very welcome.
