What do I need to study Paramedic Science at university? 

To study Paramedic Science at Birmingham Newman University, you will typically need 112 UCAS points. We welcome applications from a wide range of educational and personal backgrounds, including mature learners and those with non-traditional qualifications. Relevant BTEC qualifications and foundation routes are also considered. 

What jobs can I get with a Paramedic Science degree? 

Graduates go on to careers in NHS ambulance services, urgent care centres, GP practices, minor injury units and community health teams. You may also pursue roles in education, leadership or specialist clinical practice. Successful completion of the course makes you eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council. 

What do you study in Paramedic Science? 

You will study topics such as anatomy and physiology, trauma care, mental health, pharmacology, safeguarding and evidence-based practice. Modules include clinical skills, collaborative care and professional development. You will also complete a final-year project focused on your chosen area of paramedic practice.

Birmingham Newman University offers financial support including bursaries, scholarships and flexible payment plans. No fees are paid upfront, and repayments begin only once you earn over £25,000 per year.
