What do I need to study Theology and Philosophy at university? 

You typically need 112 UCAS points. A Foundation Year route is available for those with fewer points or relevant life experience. We welcome applications from mature learners and those with non-traditional qualifications. 

What jobs can I get with a Theology and Philosophy degree? 

Graduates can pursue careers in teaching, ministry, law, public service, research, youth work, chaplaincy, human resources and charity leadership. Many also progress to postgraduate study in areas such as Public Health, Chaplaincy and Psychology. 

What do you study in Theology and Philosophy? 

You’ll explore Christian theology, philosophy of religion, ethics, biblical interpretation and the interaction between religion and society. You’ll also study interdisciplinary topics and complete a final-year dissertation on a subject of your choice. 

How is Theology and Philosophy assessed at university? 

Assessment includes essays, presentations, portfolios, case studies, reflective logs and research projects. You’ll receive regular feedback and one-to-one academic support to help you develop your confidence and skills.
