Assessment
Assessment is designed to support your personal and professional development as a confident and capable data professional. You will complete a range of coursework-based tasks, including programming exercises, technical reports, presentations and applied projects.
A key component is a reflective essay that draws on your learning throughout the course, incorporating feedback from tutors and peers, your own reflections and the practical skills you have developed. This approach encourages you to think critically about your progress and how your understanding can be applied in future study or work.
There are no formal exams and the focus is on helping you build confidence in your communication, self-awareness and ethical thinking.
Entry requirements

A relevant honours degree, 2:2 or above.
If English is not your first language, you must have an IELTS score of 6.5, with no element below 6.0. (Other English language qualifications are also accepted. Please contact admissions for further information).
Consideration will be given to applicants with lower grade in qualifications (e.g. a 3rd class degree or non-honours degree) who have a relevant range of post study professional experience. Professional experience will be considered by the programme leader in conjunction with the quality office on an individual basis.

Fees
All fees are shown in GBP (£).
The tuition fee for the 2026/27 academic year is: £5,125.
Fees for the 2027/28 academic year can be found on our Student Finance pages and choosing your degree type.
Please note: If this course includes a Foundation Year, the fees shown above apply to the Foundation Year only. Fees for subsequent years will be charged at the standard undergraduate full-time fee.

Additional costs
The University will review tuition fees and increase fees in line with any inflationary uplift as determined by the UK Government, if permitted by law or government policy, in subsequent years of your course. It is anticipated that such increases would be linked to RPI (the Retail Price Index excluding mortgage interest payments).
