Lead Student Recruitment, Outreach and Engagement

Birmingham Newman University is seeking an experienced Student Recruitment Manager to lead recruitment and outreach activity across our full course portfolio. With a particular focus on school and college engagement, recruitment events and community partnerships, you will help raise awareness of the University and connect prospective students with opportunities to study.

Reporting to the Head of Student Recruitment and Marketing, you will develop, deliver and evaluate recruitment and outreach plans that engage a diverse range of audiences, including school and college students, parents, postgraduate students, mature learners, employers and education partners.

You will lead the Student Recruitment team, coordinating external and on-campus events, school and college engagement, and community outreach. Working with academic colleagues and other stakeholders, you will support course-level recruitment plans and contribute to Open Days, Applicant Visit Days and Summer Schools.

You will develop and manage a school and college engagement matrix, build effective relationships, and oversee outreach communications and engagement for maximum impact. You will also manage allocated budgets and relationships with external suppliers, ensuring consistent University branding and value for money.

Using market research, competitor analysis, CRM data and recruitment intelligence, you will set objectives and performance measures, evaluate activity and return on investment, and provide reports and recommendations to inform future recruitment and outreach plans.

We are seeking a highly motivated higher education professional with at least three years’ experience in student recruitment, including experience in higher education and of working with schools and colleges through an account management approach. You will have experience of line managing staff, using CRM systems and data to inform planning, undertaking market and competitor analysis, and working with external partners. Strong communication, presentation and IT skills, excellent customer service and the ability to

deliver projects from planning through to evaluation are essential. You will be able to prioritise workloads, meet targets and work collaboratively in an environment that promotes engagement, diversity and inclusion.
