Birmingham Newman University is seeking an organised and proactive Student Funds Administrator to provide effective administrative support for a range of student financial support schemes within our Student Success team.

As Student Funds Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring that students can access financial support when they need it most. You will administer hardship funds, bursaries, scholarships, short-term loans schemes and Disabled Students’ Allowance related processes. You will assess applications for hardship funds, maintain accurate records, communicate outcomes sensitively and work closely with colleagues to monitor expenditure, produce reports and evaluate the impact of financial support.

Candidates must have relevant experience in a financial administration role, with strong numerical skills, excellent attention to detail and experience of working with confidential information. You will be confident using Excel to create and maintain spreadsheets, analyse data and support reporting requirements. You will be an effective communicator with the ability to provide clear guidance to students and colleagues, manage competing priorities and work both independently and collaboratively. Experience of working within Higher Education and an understanding of student funding arrangements would be advantageous. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the University’s commitment to student success by helping to remove financial barriers to participation, progression and achievement.

Informal enquiries about this opportunity are very welcome. Please contact Tammy Oyekanmi, Advice and Wellbeing Manager, at t.oyekanmi@staff.newman.ac.uk to discuss the role further.
