Programme Leader – Primary Undergraduate Initial Teacher Training & Education
Biography
Steve actually trained as a primary teacher here at Birmingham Newman University, where he achieved a degree in primary education, with QTS, and specialised in PE.
He also played for the university basketball team! He has spent 18 years in primary education, of which the last 6 have been as Deputy Headteacher, during which he acted Headteacher twice. In September, he began a Master’s in Education.

Research Interests
Steve is currently looking ahead to planning for his master’s dissertation, in which he intends to focus on and research the lack of representation in teaching professionals from minority groups.
Teaching
Steve is overall responsible for all undergraduate teaching degree pathways. He also delivers sessions in PE to undergraduate students.
