Module delivery
In your first semester of study (between September and December), you’ll take two modules: Education and Society and Developing Disciplinary Thinking.
In Education and Society, you’ll work with your foundation lecturer to develop your academic skills and confidence while exploring a range of ideas and concepts from identity to inequality and applying these to your degree subject.
In Developing Disciplinary Thinking, you’ll work with a degree-specific lecturer, and develop an understanding of the foundations of your chosen degree.

Across your first year, you’ll be working with tutors from the foundation team as well as from your degree.
Your foundation tutor will be in touch with you by phone and by email in September to introduce themselves and start getting to know a bit more about you.
