Welcome to the first step of your master!

This is a day to get to know each other, show how to access the teaching materials, and familiarise yourself with the resources available for your learning. Please bring your photo ID.

During your induction you will be able to:

  • How to access teaching materials and the text chats
  • Library services
    Careers in psychology overview
  • IT help and who to contact
  • Student Success (includes learning needs, finances, and wellbeing support)
  • Campus tour and psychology resources (equipment, questionnaires, and rooms available to students)
  • Overview of the first module

  • The first pre-recorded lecture will be accessible.
  • This is an online and asynchronous activity, so you can watch it at your preferred time.

23rd September 2026, 12:00 – 13:00

  • First online and synchronous (live) text chat. You will have a link to access it.
Module delivery

Lecture

  • 1 hour of pre-recorded, online, asynchronous, video.
    • To introduce the week’s topic and spark your curiosity on a clinical topic.

Text Chat

  • 1 hour of online, synchronous, text-based chat.
    • To discuss the week’s topics, sharing views, and offer some critical perspectives.

Activity

  • Tasks to complete in your own time.
    • To apply your knowledge on the topic and/or to prepare you for the assignment.

Reading

  • Articles, videos, or podcasts available online.
    • To keep expanding your understanding and question your own assumptions.

Independent Learning

  • Your own self-directed studying time.
    • To manage your workload towards the completion of each module.

These are the modules of Year 1 only. Beyond the teaching staff, other people are extremely helpful to this programme.
