Welcome to Working with Children, Young People and Families at Birmingham Newman University.

We hope you are as excited as we are to begin your academic journey with us, to be prepared to work positively and effectively with children, young people, vulnerable adults and/or families, and make a positive difference to your community.

We hope that the main point of induction will be to make new friends as these will be the people sharing your new journey over the next three years, and possibly beyond as you make new friends-for-life.

Full details of your individual academic timetable, including Semester 2 timetable which may differ, will be available via your university email calendar after you have completed the pre-arrival task online and set up your student login.

Module delivery

Semester one teaching:

  • WWU431 Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (with Keith) – Mondays 9am to 12pm
  • WWU432 Voice and Participation (with Keith) – Tuesdays 11am to 2pm
  • WWU433 Theory and Critical Thinking (with Dan and Claire) – Thursdays 9am to 12pm

Teaching will be interactive and co-produced between lecturers and fellow students in your group.
